đ December Survival
A little calm, a few shortcuts and a lot of laughs!
December is magical⊠but letâs be honest, it can also be a lot. The school events, the wrapping, the planning, the social life you didnât ask for - all while trying to create a lovely Christmas for everyone else. So before we talk gifts, I wanted this weekâs email to start with something we donât say enough:
You deserve a moment of calm.
đż Looking After You
This month has a habit of stretching us in every direction, and itâs easy to forget that youâre a human, not an endless festive machine. So please take a little time for yourself - a slow morning, a quiet cup of tea, a night where you do absolutely nothing once the kids are down. None of us should be aiming for a perfect Christmas; the kids will love it no matter what. And giving yourself just a few minutes of stillness makes the rest of the month feel far more manageable. Asking for help isnât a weakness either, get those husbands wrapping presents or send the kids for a playdate whilst you run a few errands - a little help goes a long way.
Please look after yourself, everything else feels lighter when you do! (Also watch me butchering this Christmas song and you will NOT feel alone!)
đ Teacher Gift Ideas
If anyone deserves a heartfelt thank you at the end of term, itâs teachers. This little guide is filled with thoughtful, meaningful gifts that show appreciation without going overboard - useful, kind gestures that lift their spirits after a very long term of glitter, glue sticks and playground negotiations.
đ¶ Home & Pets
December is when home becomes the centre of everything - cosy evenings, guests appearing out of nowhere, fairy lights, and pets getting far too involved in wrapping paper. This edit is all about comfort and warmth: small touches that make your space feel inviting and joyful, with a few well-deserved treats for the pets who star in every family photo.
đ Stocking Fillers
If youâve nearly finished but need those last few fun extras, this stocking filler guide brings together small-but-brilliant pieces that add a spark of joy to Christmas morning. Affordable, cheerful, and perfect for ticking off the final items without overthinking.
đ New Podcast Drop - Pregnancy & Chaos
This weekâs episode is festive chaos at its best. We open with an unforgettable story involving pregnancy hormones, an FBI scam pop-up and an accidental call to 999 - and it only gets wilder from there. From âChore Playâ debates to your funniest Parenting Fails, itâs the perfect companion for wrapping presents or hiding from your family for 20 minutes.
đ Small Business Shout Out
This week Iâm spotlighting Made At The Mill, a beautiful creative studio whose mission is to make products that share memories, spread messages and celebrate the relationships that matter most. What began as a search for modern, inspiring artwork for their own little one quickly grew into a full range of personalised prints and thoughtful gifts for every occasion.
Theyâre passionate about detail, colour and quality - working with local suppliers and responsibly sourced materials to create pieces that truly feel special. Perfect for those personalised pieces. Keep an eye out next week for Christmas eve box fillers!
More calm, comfort and December wins coming next week.
